Schouela CEDurable officially launched ICOPE in Quebec, becoming the first centre in Canada to officially implement the WHO program. Dr. Matteo Cesari presented “Improving Care for Older Persons: From Research to Public Health,” examining how evidence-based practices can be integrated into health systems to support healthy ageing. The hybrid event ran from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Aberman Family Auditorium, Room A-102, followed by a networking reception until 7:00 p.m.

This free community event featured geriatrician Dr. Gustavo Duque and focused on muscle and bone health. Held in English, it took place from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Livingston Room at the Montreal General Hospital; no registration was required.

At the official launch of DURAgym, Dr. Debra Waters discussed how evidence-based exercise programs can preserve functional capacity in older adults. The English-language hybrid lecture took place from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Aberman Family Auditorium, Room A-102, and was followed by a reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the Geriatric Clinic, Room ES1100, until 6:00 p.m.

The second scientific meeting of the Canadian Translational Geroscience Network brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, trainees and industry stakeholders to connect laboratory discoveries with real-world applications. Held in Toronto on October 16–17, 2025, the program explored biomedical research and the integration of geroscience into clinical practice, research and public policy.

Hosted by Schouela CEDurable in Montréal, the network’s inaugural scientific meeting brought together research, clinical practice and public policy to explore approaches to healthy ageing. The two-day event also marked the official launch of the CTGN.

Held in English at Habitations Place Newman, this Café scientifique gave older adults from the community an opportunity to discuss osteoporosis with Dr. Jenna Gibbs, Assistant Professor at McGill University, dietitian Danielle Moreau and kinesiologist Andréa Faust.

Held in French at Fondation Berthiaume-Du Tremblay, this Café scientifique brought participants together to discuss sarcopenia with Dr. Sandrine Couture, then a resident in geriatric medicine, physiotherapist Florence Bastien and kinesiologist Andréa Faust.

Held in French at the Centre de ressources communautaires de Côte-des-Neiges, this Café scientifique invited older adults from the community to discuss bone health and osteoporosis with Dr. Suzanne Morin and kinesiologist Guy Hajj-Boutros. The event took place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 602, and registration was required.

Presented in Spanish at Misión Santa Teresa de Ávila, this special Café scientifique, titled “Un Cafecito,” invited members of Montréal’s Spanish-speaking community to discuss bone health with geriatrician Dr. Gustavo Duque and kinesiologist Andréa Faust. The informal session lasted approximately one hour and formed part of Schouela CEDurable’s series on muscle and bone health.
