Scientific Director
Dr. Gustavo Duque, MD, PhD, FRACP, FGSA
Professor Gustavo Duque is a renowned geriatrician and biomedical scientist specializing in age-related bone loss, osteoporosis, sarcopenia, osteosarcopenia, and frailty in older individuals. He researches the mechanisms, therapies, and biomarkers for these conditions, with a focus on the impact of vitamin D, exercise, and proteins on bone and muscle mass.

Team Manager
Andréa Faust, M.Sc., MGP
Andréa Faust holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in kinesiology. She has diverse experience with seniors, such as implementing a web-based exercise platform for frail seniors at risk of falls, and several research projects focusing on various ways to improve quality of life among the seniors. Recently, she completed a master’s degree in project management, thus combining her expertise in health and administration at CEDurable.

Coordinator of Education and Knowledge Transfer
Maya Cerda, MSc
Maya Cerda is responsible for administrative management at CEDurable. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human relations, a master’s degree in policy and public administration, as well as training in organizational development. With over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field, she has primarily focused on initiatives involving the seniors.

Coordinator – Transformative Technologies
Mahdi Imani, PhD
Mahdi Imani is a Biomedical Engineer and AI specialist whose work spans medical imaging, machine learning, device development, and data-driven health innovation. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Melbourne, where he developed advanced analytical and AI-based approaches to better understand musculoskeletal and aging-related health. His expertise combines engineering, clinical research, and computational sciences to support the development of technologies that meaningfully improve patient care.
Mahdi currently serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University and coordinates technology and AI initiatives at CEDurable. His work brings together clinicians, researchers, engineers, policy partners, and industry collaborators—across Canada and internationally—to evaluate, adapt, and integrate emerging technologies into real-world health systems. He is particularly focused on building practical pathways that help innovators move from early prototypes and datasets to safe, effective, and scalable solutions in everyday clinical practice.

Coordinator - Community Liaison & Education Platform
Noémie Dulac, Inf, MSc
Noémie Dulac, a nurse since 2013, has worked for several years with the seniors in long-term care facilities (CHSLD), where she gained valuable experience in managing and supporting the specific needs of seniors with loss of autonomy. Noémie completed a Master’s degree in Public Health from the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal in 2022. She now holds the position of Clinical Activities Coordinator for seniors at CEDurable.

Coordinator – Autonomy, Mobility & Independence Platform
Hussein Samhat, MSc
Hussein Samhat is a kinesiologist and epidemiologist with training in psychology. He leads the development and delivery of exercise programs for older adults at the Schouela CeDurable Centre, including clinical and community DuraGyms and the implementation of Vivifrail, with a focus on functional mobility, fall prevention and safe progression. His work bridges clinical care, research and community-based exercise, and he contributes to studies on aging, musculoskeletal health and clinical exercise prescription.

Senior Advisor – Project Manager for Gériatre Répondant
Anna Andrianova, PhD(c), TS
Anna Andrianova is a social worker and PhD candidate at Université Laval, specializing in family caregiving and aging. At Schouela CEDurable, she coordinates caregiver-support and geriatric innovation projects that help translate evidence into better practices in care and support for older adults and family caregivers across Québec’s health and social services system and community organizations, while informing research and training with academic partners.
