The translational nature of this conference will include a bench-to-bedside and community approach. This is the first of two meetings on geroscience to be held in Canada in October 2023 to facilitate the discussion on various tools and strategies that have been or are being validated aimed at extending healthy lifespan and understanding the mechanisms of aging from biological, clinical, and social perspectives.

Preliminary Agenda

October 6th

9:00 AM-12:30 PM – Understanding the biology of aging from a geroscience


Topics: The concept of geroscience; biological mechanisms; animal models, lab

techniques, omics.

12:30-1:30: Industry exhibit and poster session

1:30-5:00 – Integrating geroscience in clinical practice and research.

Topics: Designing clinical trials in geroscience; developing new drugs; increasing access

to therapies that extend healthy lifespan; strategies to facilitate recruitment for clinical trials;

non-pharmacological interventions.

October 7th

9:00 AM-10:30 AM – Translating geroscience into practice and policy.

Topics: Translational geroscience into practice; technology, machine learning and AI;

connecting industry with researchers and end-users; geroscience in primary care.

10:30-11:30 – Interactive Forum – Creating partnerships to develop the geroscience

agenda in Canada.

11:30-12:00: Closure and awards

Hybrid event

Travel grants will be available to students and early career investigators
